Once you’re a certified Rescue Diver, there is a good chance you will find yourself to be the highest certified diver on the dive site if you ever go diving outside of a dive operator. At Pure Diving Aruba, we make sure you’re prepared.
THE RESCUE COURSE
The Rescue course is one of our favorite courses to teach. This is because with the Rescue course comes a certain evolution in the mental process of the student diver. It is the first course where you are not focussed on yourself, but on other divers. Not necessarily your buddy, but all the divers on the boat. You will learn to spot problems before they arise. And to deal with them effectively is they arise anyway.
All the inwater skills are performed in open water during this course, but we might practice some of them in confined water to get you comfortable. This course is not all about dive skills though. Your instructor will show you where to find emergency equipment on the boat, and show you the workings of an oxygen kit. This course is combined with the SDI CPROX 1st Aid course or the PADI Emergency First Responder: First & Secondary Care course.
The SDI Rescue course costs USD 375. The PADI Rescue course costs USD 450.
The corresponding CPR and first aid courses cost USD 190.
